Thank you all so much for your inquiries and requests for a tutorial on how to create the citrus layered spa water featured on the cover of my book Spa Water ~ A Guide to Creating World Class Spa Water at Home. As I have demonstrated below, creating this layered look is much easier than you think, the secret, is in the ice icon wink How to Create a Citrus Layered Spa Water ~ Step by Step Tutorial by Pam Wenzel

Below, I am using a “large” organic grapefruit, “small” organic orange, “small” organic lime, (yes, size does matter icon wink How to Create a Citrus Layered Spa Water ~ Step by Step Tutorial by Pam Wenzel ), and sweet organic strawberries. After rinsing fruit thoroughly, (even though pesticide free, organic fruit is not free from dirt and bacteria), begin by adding a few cups of ice to your beverage server, this will help hold the fruit in place.

Slice your fruit thinly, but not so thin that it becomes flimsy.

Layer your citrus starting with the grapefruit, then orange and lastly the lime.

Using a “large” grapefruit and smaller orange and lime will help to reveal each layer. If your orange or lime are too large, they will overlap icon sad How to Create a Citrus Layered Spa Water ~ Step by Step Tutorial by Pam Wenzel

Start by placing your pre-layered fruit into the beverage server, using the ice to keep the fruit in place. Continue this process as you maneuver your way around the beverage server.

Once the bottom layer is in place, add a few more cups of ice to begin your next layer. When the final layering of the fruit is complete, add some more ice, sliced strawberries and water.

You may have noticed, for the cover image, I added fresh mint and had used cucumbers instead of lime. Don’t be afraid to experiment, be creative and have fun!

This is the beauty of Spa Water, with a large container, a few ingredients, and a little imagination, the possibilities are endless!
